Client feedback from Amipak

Earlier this month we had some time with Joseph Schwitzer, Business Development Director at Amipak, to check in on how he finds our services.

Amipak is a specialist food grade packaging manufacturer, a third generation, family business based in near London. They supply quality packaging from concept to production, using sustainable materials for food items such as pizza, take away dishes, cakes, plus non-food items in the laundry and stationery sectors.

Founded in 1999, Amipak has continued to grow and is now housed in a 65,000 sq.ft modern production and warehouse space.  As the business has grown, Health and Safety has become increasingly important for them and in 2019 they started working with SML for support across their business.

“We needed a new approach, a refresh on how we managed Health & Safety, as our previous H&S consultant wasn’t providing enough expertise, guidance, or a robust enough management system. We work with Ian, who quite honestly is the reason we renew each year with SML. He knows everything. He’s very approachable and knows our business very well – he even knows to bring dog treats to the site for our whippet!”

“Ian answers emails quickly and picks up the phone when we call. He has a wealth of knowledge. He doesn’t just look at our business from a safety point of view – he also has a commercial mindset and helps us find safe solutions without compromising our business performance.”

“We take Health and Safety very seriously and have excellent levels of awareness across the business, this provides peace of mind for everyone. Currently, we are putting our Production Managers through IOSH training, to further increase this knowledge for the benefit of all our staff and site visitors.”

“It’s good to have Ian as part of our team providing support remotely but also through regular site visits.”
