## Article

From Tuesday 14 December 2021, in England only, it will be a requirement for fully vaccinated adults that have been a close contact of a positive case of Covid19, to take daily lateral flow device (LFD) tests for seven days.

If an individual has a positive LFD test result during the seven days, they must go for a PCR test and self-isolate until they have the PCR test result.

- If the PCR test result is negative they can stop self-isolating but must continue the seven days of LFD tests.
- If the PCR test result is positive they will need to self-isolate for 10 days, and do not need to take LFD tests during this period.

If an individual has been a close contact of a person with a positive case of Covid19, and has a negative LFD test result themselves, it is strongly advised they limit close contact with other people outside their household, especially in crowded or enclosed spaces and with anyone who is more vulnerable. They should also follow government guidance on wearing a face covering and working from home where possible.

Guidance for unvaccinated adults:

This remains unchanged: individuals must self-isolate for 10 days if they are a close contact of someone with Covid19.

Guidance for those experiencing Covid19 symptoms:
