Covid-19 update: How to keep up to date with health & safety during the outbreak

In these unprecedented and challenging times, advice on health and safety, like everything else, can change from day to day depending on the latest scientific or Government policy advice. Safety Management Limited are still available to advise you on any aspect of health and safety to help you keep your business going.

If you have not already done so, we would recommend that you subscribe to the HSE regular email bulletin, which will alert you to their most recent advice as it changes.

Recent examples of useful HSE advice to be applied during the Covid19 outbreak include:

  • Guidance on maintaining statutory compliance for equipment falling under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR).
For many businesses, thorough examinations should continue as normal with any additional precautions that need to be followed to reduce the risk of virus transmission. For those businesses that may find themselves in a situation where they need to adopt a risk based approach, SML can offer assistance where required.
  • Guidance for the food industry (but also applicable elsewhere) on what to do if stocks of your usual PPE – especially dust masks – are not available at this time.
