Safety Management are in search of a Head of Health and Safety for an award-winning, fast growing, construction company with ambitious plans for the future.

Reporting into the board this newly created position is a truly exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to make a real impact in a diverse organisation.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction and the desire to promote a positive health and safety culture focused on accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Design, develop, and implement the Group health and safety strategy.
  • Ensuring adequate health and safety competence across the Group line with the health and safety strategy, and identifying appropriate training needs where skills and knowledge needs to be improved.
  • Providing relevant and timely reports to Regions, CRL, MMS and PLC Board of Directors and the Group’s Health and Safety Committee’s.
  • Monitor all regional health and safety activities ensuring that the requirements for the Group are completed in line with Group procedure and legislation.
  • To take an active interest in own development and that of the health and safety overall to bring new ways of working and future improvements to the Group.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Extensive experience in health and safety management at senior management or board level. With proven experience of influencing key stakeholders.
  • You will have experience of developing and implementing of a robust health and safety strategy.
  • It is essential that you have experience of working within the construction industry, preferable within house building.
  • You will be degree qualified and a Chartered member of IOSH.
